Loughborough Foxes secured their first win of the season on Sunday with a comfortable 3-0 win over Birmingham and West Midlands Ladies.
Foxes controlled the first half but could not find the final touch to turn the ball home as Cooper, Tugby, Steele and Chambers all had good attempts on the Birmingham goal.
Despite the dominance, returning keeper Amy Burle did have to make a couple of important saves.
In the second half though Foxes found their shooting boots.
Within two minutes of the restart, Cooper broke clear to lob the advancing keeper and give Foxes the lead.
And 10 minutes later she found herself in the same position and again she comfortably beat the visiting Birmingham keeper.
Foxes continued to dominate as Steele shot went narrowly wide while after a great run by Bartle her shot was well saved by the Birmingham keeper.
With 20 minutes left Foxes scored their third goal as Tugby opened her season’s account. She was put clear by a brilliant Steele pass and as she raced into the penalty she calmly side footed home.
Foxes now visit league newcomers Sheffield United next week before returning to the stadium in two weeks time with a league cup clash against Sporting Khalsa.
